About Dr. Davidson

Richard Davidson, PhD

Dr. Richard Davidson is a neuroscientist, professor, best-selling author, and the founder of The Center for Healthy Minds at The University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2006, Time magazine called him one of “The 100 Most Influential People in The World.” He’s spent the last 30 years researching the connections between emotions, meditation, and brain health. He’s discovered what he calls the “6 Dimensions of Emotional Style,” Resilience, Positive Outlook, Social Intuition, Self-Awareness, Sensitivity to Context, and Attention. Together, these traits show how our emotions affect us during social interactions, while facing adversity, and while navigating life’s challenges. By interviewing and testing some of the world’s most influential meditators, Dr. Davidson has proven that adding meditation and other practices to your daily routine can change your brain and ultimately your Emotional Style.
